The Birth of Deacon Harrison. Augusta, Ga Birth Photographer, Evans, Ga Birth Photographer, Grovetown, Ga Birth Photographer

"If one feels the need of something grand, something infinite, something that makes one feel aware of God, one need not go far to find it. I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle."
Vincent Van Gogh

This was my first birth photography experience. I really wasn't prepared for how emotional and amazing the experience would be. Abbey photographed the birth of my daughter in April 2011 and I'm so happy I was able to do the same for her.

I have written so much, and erased so much trying to find the perfect words to go with this post....but I just can't. It's something you can't explain, the feeling of watching a child come into the world. To be a part of something so intimate and life changing. Witnessing the love a mother feels for her child from the moment they come into the world isn't something you can write about.

I can show you though.

Thank you Bethmann Family. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have been allowed to capture these moments for you!

  1. These are absolutely beautiful! I sobbed looking at them!

I have decided I simply must do this for my 2nd baby coming in a few weeks.

  2. Cass, you will be so happy you did! Those moments are just so special! Abbey was looking through them while I was there and she saw one of Andy giving Deacon his first bath and she said "look how big his thumb looks against his tiny face" and that really stuck out to me. Those are exactly the kinds of things you forget. I cherish mine and look at them often. Such an amazing thing to be able to look back on.
